Individual Installation
Notes |
Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0
Select the language version and also either the 16 or 32-bit version
of Adobe Acrobat Reader desired.
Superbase Classic Standard
Please note that Superbase Classic should be installed into a new
directory if possible, rather than overwriting an existing directory.
If Superbase Classic is installed into a directory that contains
Superbase 3.2, 3.5, 3.6i, or Classic, it will remove all non-Classic
licenses from the installed system. A warning to this effect will
be issued during installation.
The language selected for installation determines the main installation
language of Superbase. In addition, the other available language
DLLs for internal language support can be installed. Not every language
has complete support. Only English and German have the online-help
and all examples translated. Some examples are translated in French,
and in Italian and Swedish none of the examples are translated except
for the Remote Connection Wizards (in all available languages).
The online handbook “Upgrading to Superbase 3.x” will
be installed in French if French is the installation language, in
German if German is the installation language, and otherwise in
English. In all cases, if there is no localised version of a component,
it will be installed in English. If multiple languages are installed,
only the main language additional components will be installed (online-help,
sample programs, online documentation, etc.).
This installation is single-user only. If it is installed over an
existing Superbase 3.2, 3.5, 3.6i, or 2001 network version or later,
then it will warn you that those network licenses shall be removed
before it continues.
The online handbook requires Adobe Acrobat Reader 2.1 or later.
SuperBoxes-X 4.1 is one of the components of the installer, as are
the 250+ external document filters and can be excluded from the
installation by disabling the appropriate checkbox. SuperBoxes is
a set of extensions to Superbase that are accessible via the SBL
programming language. It adds a wide array of control types and
windows to the existing palette of tools. There is also an online
handbook for SuperBoxes-X 4.1. It requires that Adobe Acrobat Reader
2.1 or later be installed.
All components are installed by default.
Superbase Classic Professional
In addition to the components found in the Standard installation,
GenIAL Toolbox 3.0 will be found as an additional page in the installation
wizard. GenIAL Toolbox 3.0 adds a number of useful tools to the
Project Manager that is part of Superbase Classic, such as syntax
checking, cross-project searching for a string, and project cross-referencing.
Superbase Classic Enterprise
In addition to the components found in the Professional installation,
there will be an additional page in the installation wizard for
installing the Superbase Internet Server components and documentation.
It is recommended that the documentation be installed and examined
prior to installing the actual server components, since this also
requires a pre-existing web server installation.
There will also be a separate link to various free Internet software
components, such as Apache web server on the CD.
LAN Licenses
This installer is used to change a single-user Superbase instance
into a network installation. It requires a network license registration
card (1, 5, 10, 20, 50 users, etc.). Run the software and then enter
the registration number in the boxes provided. Select the network
type (it should default to the currently installed one if one is
already installed). Once a registration number has been used, it
cannot be reused. The correct registration card can be identified
by a number in the lower right corner (005, 010, 020 or GE005, GE010,
etc.).
Requires that Superbase be already installed.
(PPCS) Server Licenses
This installer adds additional access licenses to the Superbase
PPCS server. It operates similarly to the LAN License installer.
Requires that Superbase be already installed.
