The development team has successfully installed the SIMPOL Professional Pre-Release 4 using a freshly installed Wine layer, with no additional components required. The resulting installation ran smoothly and even graphical programs using the Windows wxWidgets components ran without trouble on Wine. The version tested was Wine 0.9.25 on both Gentoo and Ubuntu Linux distributions. This should not be interpreted as a statement regarding long-term strategy, since we consider this purely a temporary solution until the entire package is running natively on Linux.
